I am so thankful to God, my Savior, for so many opportunities in my life. I am a wife and mother of a 1 year old. I love those roles more than anything, and they are my source of motivation to step out on my own as an entrepreneur. I love organizing my thoughts and find, to my demise, I spend hours organizing before actually accomplishing anything! I have been journaling faithfully since I was 15 years old–for me, introspection is crucial to gaining insight and wisdom from the many paths we take in life. I often think of what my children will think someday as they read through the 100’s of journals I have filled. Life is exciting, and meant to be lived…and recorded to teach those who come behind us!

From the time I graduated high school at 16, I have desired to take a bite out of life! I began my journey studying the Bible. After receiving a certificate in education, I went on to receive my Associates in Science and B.A. in English. I began working full-time as a proofreader/editor for doctor’s reports and slowly transitioned to insurance. I spent several years working in medicare with older adults before I went back to school. I learned I had a passion to help older adults and wanted to do more…thus began my journey as a non-traditional student. After receiving my B.S. in Occupational Science and then M.S. in Occupational Therapy I was hired a full-time clinician working with older adults in a rehab/long-term setting. I found I still felt a calling to do more–thus began my journey as an entrepreneur! Aging with Purpose LLC was formed in November 2016 and it has been quite a journey! I have learned so much and have so much to learn! In February 2017, in my search for support and resources, 100 Coffees was born. I can’t wait to see what is next!

I am so excited about 100 Coffees! Although I am very passionate about Aging with Purpose, I love 100 Coffees, the women with whom I am able to build a relationship, and the mission behind it! I am fully invested! I see 100 Coffees as a movement to change the way women approach entrepreneurship–a place for support, encouragement, resources, assistance, laughs, and relationships! 100 Coffees has the potential to grow locally, regionally, nationally, and globally! Dream Big. Always.

I met my adoring husband, Randy, while we were both studying to be ballroom dance instructors in Nevada. Five short years later, we had a 4 year old daughter and had blended our other 4 kids into one family. After attending a Global Leadership Summit at our church, we felt led to Arizona. Selling or giving away everything but a car, fridge, dressers and clothes, we moved our trio with only a promised job to anchor us. Within 3 months, God provided us with a house and replaced everything we had given away or sold in Nevada – right down to a much-needed second car for my hour commute. Five years into our Arizona adventure, Mom called asking us to please find a way to come home and be closer to family. So, we downsized our material goods and moved in with my parents in the Central Valley of California. With all of my business travel, we decided to homeschool our youngest, which has proven more challenging and rewarding than I ever imagined. Three generations sharing one roof, our life is anything but boring.

In 2000, I was looking for a way to stay home with my toddler and found Mary Kay. My director gave me a John Maxwell book, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. She told me that if I read, apply, and share the principles with others, I could build a team and make enough money to stay home with my daughter full-time. The concepts were so simple to understand and when I applied them, I saw immediate results! Within a year, I had a team and was earning enough as a director to stay home. After 5 years of encouraging and developing women to live their purpose, I left direct sales and re-entered the healthcare field. I thought, “Who needs leadership more than healthcare, right?” So I started working for a local integrated healthcare organization. I worked my way up from registration to Human Resources, to Management. Things were going great, until I reached the highest level possible without a degree. I had skipped college, opting to get married and start a family. So, at nearly 40 years old, I enrolled and completed my Bachelors in Business Management. I don’t know what I thought would magically happen once I was handed that diploma, but whatever it was never came. A few months later, I found the John Maxwell Team and became a certified Leadership Coach, Trainer and Speaker. This opened doors to a new business, using all the experience I had gained since my Mary Kay days, and once again I was growing leaders. In 2016, I finished my certification in Human Behavior consulting, allowing me to facilitate and train teams and organizations on Conflict Resolution and Change Management. Randy joined the business in 2017, to open a couples and families’ ministry teaching Communication Skills and Conflict Resolution.

Being newly relocated to California after an absence of 12 years, I had no network – business or social. I also was a full-time mom and teacher now, which made leaving the house for meetings difficult. Out of frustration, I reached out to Facebook groups of women and business owners. Most of these groups were unfulfilling and mostly 24/7 marketing platforms. When I found a group that actually communicated, questions were usually answered by product promotions or Facebook links to join a company. These are great things and have their purpose. Unfortunately, they did not fill my need for new contacts and real relationships. Out of desperation, I posed a question on an active women entrepreneur page that was very encouraging. The response was overwhelming.  I was not the only one searching for deeper connection beyond marketing my business. Within a few hours, #100COFFEES was born. It has been the most amazing roller coaster ride ever since, and I am so thankful for all the incredible women it has brought together. You will never meet a more caring, authentic, dynamic, intelligent, giving group of women assembled in one place anywhere else –  virtual or live. I can’t wait to introduce you to them. I know they are eager to meet and encourage you. Welcome to #100COFFEES!
